Cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) is a technique used to obtain 3D structures of biological macromolecules. The mission of CryoEM 101 is to provide self-paced learning material that introduces newcomers to the protocols, expectations, limitations, and troubleshooting of standard procedures of a typical cryo-EM project. To meet these goals, we offer media-rich content that uses illustrations, animations, narrated videos, and interactive training modules to cover major topics. The course is divided into five chapters: Sample Purification, Cryo-EM Grid Preparation, Cryo-EM Grid Screening, Data Collection, and Image Processing & Analysis.
Cryo-EM 101 was created by Peter Shen and Janet Iwasa at the University of Utah. Click here to learn more about the course creators and what they have in store over the coming months.
